Readiness report
PDF, A4, about 11 to 15 pages
A band and score for each standard you picked, a section-by-section table, the stop items and why each one matters, the two-week plan, any site visit summaries and what you declared.
What you get
You answer the office sections once and, where your standard has a site walk, the site groups on each walk. Then you get a short readiness report and separate documents, all made from your answers. They're the same whether you pick ISO 9001, a sector scheme or several at once, and they cover everything you picked. The registers workbook is for 12D only.
Every bank has office sections you answer once, and a bank with a site walk has site groups you answer on each walk. A standard has twelve to eighteen sections and groups, and the table below shows NHSS 12D. Every National Highways Sector Scheme applies ISO 9001, so a sector scheme bank includes the ISO 9001 core. You're scored against both, and ISO 9001 is charged once, however many standards you pick. Each section names the clauses and appendices it draws on, by number only. Questions your profile rules out never appear, so most firms answer fewer than the full count. You start with the key questions in each section. A section asks the rest when you answer one Partly, No or Don't know, and the minutes in the table are for every question. Where two standards you hold ask the same question, you answer it once. The standards page gives the question count, the stop items and the time for each of the eleven.

Planned counts. The published bank's totals replace them when available. The standards page has the totals for all eleven standards.
Bank version: current. Written from: NHSS 12D Issue 5 (July 2025). Published: 5 September 2026.
You get a short readiness report and separate documents, made from your answers and kept in your account. Each one covers every standard you picked, with a separate score and band for each. Each file also shows the issue every bank it used was written against, the bank version, the date and the independence statement. Until 90% of the questions in your assessment are answered, the report is a short progress summary instead.
PDF, A4, about 11 to 15 pages
A band and score for each standard you picked, a section-by-section table, the stop items and why each one matters, the two-week plan, any site visit summaries and what you declared.
PDF, about 11 pages, with the evidence list in Excel too
What to do before the visit, who should be in the room, where the assessor can see your work, and every document or record the questions asked about, in the order to put them on the table, with the questions it answers, where you said it lives and its status. In Excel, the evidence list has a status column you can keep updating.
Excel and PDF
One row per gap with the suggested action, priority, effort, owner, target date and the evidence that closes it, and a When column that picks out the two-week plan. It's the only document that says what to do about each gap.
PDF, about six pages per walk
Where your standard has a site walk, a dated record of each walk, with every observation, your notes and the items to follow up. It supports your internal audit site visits.
PDF, about 16 pages
Every answer in your assessment, with your notes and where the evidence is, for your own files.
Excel, 12D only, twelve register sheets and a how-to sheet
The registers a certificate holder is expected to keep, with the current document editions filled in, drop-down statuses and expiry highlighting. Also sold blank on the templates page, where the only pack so far is for 12D.
Sample files: the first three pages of the sample report (PDF), for a fictional company and watermarked, and the registers workbook (Excel), blank. There's no sample of the evidence list or action plan workbooks.
AI checks and Compliance Tools
Every Readiness Assessment comes with Check my answers, which reads every answer and note and shows where an assessor is likely to ask for more, and two practice audits with an assessor's questions on your weakest areas. The checks are done by a language model, and what they find isn't advice. How the AI checks work.
Compliance Tools adds the AI tools you use all year: toolbox talks, RAMS checks, incident reports, answers to audit findings and documents with your logo, and Check my documents, 3 runs a year. It's £149 a year for one organisation, or £299 with the Readiness Assessment for one standard. See Compliance Tools.
Each sheet has a header row, drop-down statuses, a notes column and the review dates a certificate holder tends to be asked about. The sheets you get are the ones your standards call for. The how-to sheet explains each one.
| Sheet | What it records |
|---|---|
| Training and card register | Who holds which card, registration or course, the expiry date and what you looked at to confirm it |
| Vehicles, IPVs and plant | Each vehicle and item of plant, its checks, its test dates and who is responsible for it |
| Signals and measuring equipment | Temporary signals and any measuring equipment, with service and calibration dates |
| Signal pre-shift check sheet | The daily check on a set of temporary signals before use |
| Controlled external documents | The scheme document, Chapter 8, the Traffic Signs Manual and the other editions you rely on, with the issue you hold |
| Audits and site visits | The internal audit programme and the log of site visits, with findings and close-out |
| Incidents and near misses | Near misses, incursions and incidents, what happened and what changed as a result |
| Complaints log | Complaints from clients, the public or authorities, and how each one was answered |
| Supplier approvals | Suppliers and subcontractors, what you checked before using them and when you next review them |
| CertCheck log | The dated record of checking your own entry and your subcontractors' entries on the public register |
| Quality plan contents checklist | A tick list of the contents a job's quality plan should carry, without reproducing the scheme's wording |
| Management review | Agenda, attendance, inputs, decisions and actions for each review |
Each bank carries the issue and date of the document it was written from, and every report prints them. For the sector schemes, the sources page shows when we last checked Lantra's Schedule of Suppliers page. Your assessment is scored against the bank that's current when you complete it. If a new bank comes out before then, the app tells you. ISO 9001:2026 was published on 16 September 2026. We'll update the bank when the transition arrangements are published.
